Marcus Miller before Hi/Fat Beams

Sign in to disble this ad
I just listened to "Fat Time", from Miles Davis' 1981 album, "Man with the Horn", for the first time in 10 years or so.

Wow, I forgot how much I adored Marcus Miller, his tone, time, everything!
To me, he sounded so much better in that before-hi-beam period.
Anyone knows which strings, he used back then? I sort of remember an old interview that stated he used Dean Markley halfrounds.
Is that correct, and are there alternatives today?

Thanks!

I don't think it's rotos...
Still believe it's some sort of halfround/groundwound.
But thanks for the input, nice to have someone to chip in!

Might have been Fender strings back then.
