Ok, so I'm looking for some vintage Cliff Burton/ Lemmy from Motorhead sound from my crappy pawnshop bass. I've looked in to pedals that give me enough bottom end to sound good and enough distortion to sound metal, and I've come to the Big Muff Bass (pi)
The strings I'm using are a super slinky ernie ball set. I hate them. They sound... bleh... Very elementary-school concert band. They were a christmas gift from someone who had no idea that guage meant anything. So I was thinking about getting some power slinky strings to give my pawnshop find a better tone, but I want to be sure that before I buy new strings (and replace strings I haven't even broken) and a new pedal that 1: they are both good quality and 2: they will go together. So does anyone else have the same pairing? Or use one or the other and can give me some info? |
