Medium Scale Strings - Suggestions

Sign in to disble this ad
I bought a Kawai F2B with a 32" scale -
Any suggestions on Medium Scale Strings -
Looks like my choices are few. I want something that will help in obtaining the lowest action possible. Figured someone here would have had some success with a Kawai, Alembic (no I'm not comparing it to an Alembic - only in scale), Stu Hamm or other 32" scale bass
Thanks

Both GHS and D'Addario make a wide range of medium sclae strings. Almost every string type they make has a medium scale version. Some sets can be found at www.musiciansfriend.com. The best places to find them are www.bpstrings.com and www.juststrings.com.
The only hangup about them is the manufactureer makes them in only one gauge, so you will have to take the set in what you can get it in.

The strings won't lower your action alone, you'll need a set up on your bass to get the action lower. Also, you could use reg legnth strings on your bass, and just cut the ends back.
