Metal/Jazz Strings

Sign in to disble this ad
I currently play a Spector Legend 6 String, I play fingerstyle and would love to find a nicely balanced set that can give me the dark or thrashy growls for metal, Yet the sweet and funky feel of Jazz.

Suggestions?

By the way, I tune to an awkward tuning. That's right, I tune to B E A D G C. The long forgotten standard . And would rather not switch to some bizarre tuning to get the sound I want. I'd rather leave that to technique with a sexy set of strings ^_^.

DR FatBeams 45-105s have a good growl, I prefer them in a trio (Drum,BAss,Guitar), they work great for Jazz, slap and where growl is needed.

BUT,

I recently started using DA Chromes (flat wounds) for my main choice, they just cut throught much easier IMO.
