Milestone no.X: TI flat

In my development as a bass player I have had some "milestones", when I experienced something new and really important; something which has changed the way I play, or the way I build up my rig, or heard someone to play (for me it was Stu Zender back in the 90s), etc.
My latest "milestone" was to discover TI flat strings. It is really a new experience, I don't know why it took such a long time, being a fretless player I should have done it earlier. I was very happy with my D'addario half wounds though. But TI flats are amazing. My fretless Stingray is a different instrument now. Much more dynamism, warmth, soul, unbelievable!
Please everybody, go buy a set of TI flat for your instrument. Even if you will not use it, you have to have this experience!

+1 to the fact that everyone should try the flats.
They have sooo much more thump and buttomend to them.

And everyone should also try black nylonstrings for the same reasons.

I have recently become a TI user. I put them on my '54 Fender Precision. They have the tension of a round, but the sound of a flat. A fantastic sound!

Their price always kept me away, but I am glad I took the chance and triued them anyway.

I recently took my ATK 300 fretless in and had the fingerboard planed because of excessive wear from a previous user. I was going to have them put a set of DR Sunbeams on, but they didn't have any. So instead of going with roundwounds, I went with the only set of flats they had, which was a TI jazz bass set. I have yet to play it through my amp, but the acoustic tone has really changed. Much more midrange articulation, great singing tone. Can't wait to plug it in and crank it...
