Missing string

Sign in to disble this ad
Well, I don't have much of a problem to be solved, just some venting...

I bought a 5 string set of Dean Markley Blue Steels and there were no B to be found! Of course, when I told that to the salesman, there was nothing he could do. How do you prove a string was missing? Sent an email to DM, no answer.

Ever happened to you?

Update...

I sent a 2nd email two months later after the first and got finally got an answer. They did get my 1st email. They and asked what were the strings received not one but three sets this morning. It's the wrong gauge though and I fear the .125 will be quite sloppy.

Anyway, it leaves a bittersweet aftertaste. On one hand, it took forever to answer but I didn't expect them to send a set, nevermind three. Now I can sleep well and be at peace with Mr Markley.

Thanks for reading.

Actually, I sent them an email long before your call. (you want a set or what? ) The original post was just ranting. (I did mention sending an email)

It is pretty good service indeed. I was extremely pissed off at first and switched brand but this is enough to keep me in the Dean Markley family. What bugs me is it took two months and two emails, especially since they said they received the first email. I wasn't even asking for strings, just an apology, a word, anything.

They were very quick after the second email.

Now I'll see how the light gauge will be. I used to use light gauge on a 35" scale but my current bass has 33¼" scale.

When elixer was giving out the free strings, they sent me an A string, two Ds, and a G. No E string in the package. I'm lucky I got them for free I guess, even though I had already taken off and cut my strings I already had on.

Your situation kind of reminds me of two different times I bought a DVD and the DVD wasn't in the case. Try explaining that one to a best buy employee!

try cleaning your old B string with denatured alcohol for a temporary solution
