You read the title and roll your eyes, however as a student with minimal budget (that also happens to be in the downunder region of the world where bass strings are overpriced and harder to obtain), I was wondering about string choices.
The current set up came with fender 7250's that I've been told have had around 4-5hrs playing... When I play it, it doesn't quite have the "fret tone"(I've got no idea what to call it)/brightness I'm used to. (My musicman sub has been nicely adjusted, low action of 2mm and plenty of space to fit my fingers for slapping and the "fret tone" i love)
The modulus also has roughly 2mm and a slightly lower neck so not as much space for slapping but enough for now...
The lack of that "fret tone", would that be the strings? (My musicman has ProSteels changed less than two weeks ago)
So I guess I'm asking what strings others use essentially, and advice for getting that sound back... (before I just go frivolously buying strings
)
