more string help

I don't know what scale my 4 string is. It has 20 frets tho... SOMEONE HELP!!!!!!!!!

Measure from the nut to the twelfth fret, and multiply by two. The result is your scale length.

its like 17 in so that'd be 34. what scale is that?

34" is standard long scale. Other scale lengths commonly encountered are extra-long which is 35" or more and normally found on 5+ string basses, and the short scales of 32" (not that common) and 30".

Tho when I measured it seamed to be a lil over 17 it was 17 and a ¼ of inch. Does that make any difference?

i think your bass is 34"
and you will need just standard strings...long scale

did i have to take it to the start of the fret or the end
In my bass its 15 3/4 to the start of the fret
I am shorty?

sounds like a 32"
remember scale lengths are nominal
some makes use 33 1/3 and 33 3/4 but are still called 34" long scale
i think yours will fall into the 32" band??
