Dr's are smoother then most. Dean Markley blue steel are the main others that come to mind for me.

The Ken Smith steels feel nothing like Rotosounds in my experience. If they did I wouldn't play them.

Blue Steels are very smooth. Smoother than some nickels.

I found them to be rougher than the Lo-Riders(SS) I have now.

I love the tone of Roto 66's, but don't want to put them on my Ric - the DR's are 3 years old and still have plenty of clank in them.

There has been a new set of them sitting in my room for over a month now

I haven't used Lo Riders, so I can't compare. I don't like the tone of Blue Steels, but they feel great.

Of the strings I have personal experience with:

Dean Markley Super Round
GHS Boomers
D'Addario XL
DR FatBeams

The FatBeams are by FAR the smoothest and most comfortable to play. They're my go-to strings now.

Cheers!
