Multi String Bass Strings

I just bought a 10 sting bass. Each of the 5 main strings are doubled. I do not have any idea as to the string guages used on my bass. It is a import of the most inexpensive kind so the manufacture does not have any of that information either.
HELP... What are the standard sizes for these little guitar sized strings?

It is a Starfire brand. Made in China. The 10 string has only been made for less than 1 year. They came out with them in May of 07. This is a Semi Hollow body. It is really nice except for the fact I broke the octive G string when I had just started tuning it up.

Can you tell me how it is tuned? Is each pair an octave apart? I'm planning on eventually having a custom 10 string (dual course) built but I haven't decided exactly how I would want it tuned just yet.

The strings would be of Chinese made origin for sure. Contact juststrings.com and you will be able to get the perfect set for your bass.

It is just like an 8 string. It is a 5 string bass with a single octive for each. I tune it in standard 440

What really sucks is that I jsut had to place an order with Musicians Friend to buy 2 - .020 strings for $1.69 each and $6 shipping...
I could not find them anywhere else and juststrings.com was more expensive to ship!!

hey, iriegnome, what do you think of that starfire bass. im looking at that bass to to add to my arsenal for some different sounds. how is it? how is the intonation. i notice sometimes that basses with the fixed bridge sometimes the intonation is a little off and theres not much you can do about it. thanks
