Question Musicianīs Friend (brand) strings

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello friends.

First of all, I did my homework and made a search in this forum and did not get the anwer I was looking for, so here I come:

What do you think about those (incredible) low price MusicianīsFriend brand strings??? How do you compare īem with, lets say, DīAddario XLīs (the ones I normally use)??

Thanx a lot.

Ignacio.

I bought 2 sets of them for my Ibanez SR500 and they were pretty decent, you get what you pay for I guess...All of the strings were nice and twangy, with a pretty bright tone that unfortunately died pretty quickly, not much faster than D'Addarios though...The one thing i really disliked about the strings was the E string, when it died it sounded really bad and weak...I dont know how to explain it, but I used an old dead GHS Bass Boomer in place of the Musicians Friend E string to solve that problem...

I guess its worth the money if you're really broke and not too picky about the tone of your strings but otherwise I'd steer clear of them..
