Musings on flatwounds...

Now that I'm starting to be interested in and play with flatwounds, I'm coming to the conclusion that probably 75-80% of the music I've loved and listened to was played with flats. I listen to everything from Ray Price to Gomez to Miles Davis and Interpol.

The power of suggestion, or veracity, itself???

My opinion is they just sound good and suit electric bass. They were the only string you could get for a long time.

One more thing is the musicians. In my opinion they were much better players.

No way. That's not how they sound... Eventough he's a terrific rock player, lays down some really interesting b-lines...

Uh, no. They would obviously fall into the other 20-25% of my library.
