My first set of flats.

Just ordered some Steve Harris signature flats for my P bass. Will post a review. Actually tried to delete this post but can't figure it out....

Do they go deeper then LaBella's? (Thicker gauge?) After they mellowed out of course. I've heard Steve Harris likes them new and fresh. I personally think a flat should really mellow out in a couple of months or sometimes even a year!

Steve prefers them to be brighter. His strings get changed between every show. He likes the brightness of rounds, but prefers the feel and lack of string noise that flats provide him with. They also don't chew up his fingers like rounds. I think he baby powders his fingers as well. I sincerely doubt he's had to pay for strings in probably 30 years. That makes changing flats daily rather affordable.
