1. What strings do you guys like best on your Jazzes

2. How would you describe your tone with those strings?

Here are my experiences;
My 2000 MIM sounded great with Fender 9050ML flats on it, when the stock pickups were in it. Since going with the DiMarzio ultrajazz pickups, the strings I like best for it are TI jazz flats. I used D'addario XL's for awhile. It sounded good, but I didn't like the hi-fi tone too much. The TI's seem to be the best combination on this bass for me.

My 2002 MIM fretless has DiMarzio Model J's. I use D'addario chromes with this. The XL's sounded good, but a little too trebly. Since I liked the XL's, I tried the Chromes. Bingo! To my ears, the best combination with this bass.

Surprisingly, I like the XL's (my favorite roundwound BTW)best on my Pbass deluxe, with Nordstrand P/J pickups. I guess somebody had to be different, go figure
