ok heres the score lookin on the web a certain 'centre' for 'bass' (ehem) (uk) is doing an offer on ashdown bass strings the budget stainless, £5 for 4st £7 for 6st.

ok so i order like 5 sets for my 4 strings (jag and bird) fine i just changed them both recently so they are spares at the mo, so far i'm cool as the proverbial cucumber now i order 2 sets of 6st for my 5 and plan to use the 25's for my models (yeah im a 40k geek ), well the package come today, 2 sets of warwick yellow 5 string so the wife calls up, mix up at shop i score for strings like 3 to 4 times the price..........

now here is the best bit i've always had warwicks on my 5 (reds im poor ) and the B was always a little flabby sounding. now i have found taper core strings WOW what a difference the B is clear and bright but still thumpy. i just fell in love with the 5 string again.

sorry it was so long just had to let it out the wife is ignoring me now says "its only a string" well thats non bassists for you.
