My Rotos have changed length!

Sign in to disble this ad
I bought a couple of sets of Roto 55 pressure wounds for my 5 string about 9-10 months ago and loved them. So when I recently ordered a few more sets I couldn't wait to get a fresh set on... proplem.
Over that time they seem to have changed length. Before, the thick tapered end of B string came to about 2cm short of the tuning peg when tuned, but now it comes about 1 inch past it and there is no way I am gonna get a .130" string to bend around a tuning peg!!!
Now before anyone accuses me of being stupid and buying the wrong scale length, these strings only come in one length and gauge for 5 string so I don't think that is the problem. Anyone out there had any similar problems?

Did you email the company or something? Maybe they have something to say about that (like maybe it was a defective pack?). That really sucks, though. =/

Yeah, I have emailed them and am waiting for their reply. Just thought I would see if anyone else was in the same boat. I don't think it can be a defective pack as they were fine before and now both sets are too long. I can only think they have changed the manufacture of them.

Hi, Join the Rotosound strings aren't as good any more club.
For years, I only used the Swing bass round wound. In the last year, I tried to find a set that would come shipped the same way twice, and bro. It didn't happen. If Entwistle was alive, I think he would kick their arse......

Bugger! I was doing my bit by supporting a British company but after a completely dead G string in my last set it might be time to jump ship. I have sent them off to their QA department but if they cant offer a solution then I will be trying to find a new brand of pressure/half wound strings.
