My sincerest apology . . . .

Sign in to disble this ad
. . . . if anyone has felt sold to.

My only objective ever has been to help.

If I've suggested what I make it's because in my opinion it's been a viable solution.

I won't be here, but I'm not hard to find.

I mean, your affiliations are mentioned under your name. I dunno how someone could see you as playing someone. Then again, I have no clue of the circumstances you're talking about.

Do a post search for threads with Skip, it will be easy to figure out. Same stuff that's happened countless times with other people trying to help AND make a living at the same time. Sometimes we get it right, sometimes we don't.

5 of my 6 basses wear Circle K strings. I have the website bookmarked. I do hope Skip returns though because I still have lots to learn about strings. His input is always appreciated.

He's made it clear that he will still answer any questions you have for him, but his forum participation will be lessened. It's best to contact him via email regarding product questions.

Personally I had noticed a pretty big swell of people jumping on threads 'strongly' pushing CircleK for any need that any poster may be posting about. Followed by other posters, followed by quibbling if anyone disagreed with those posters. Several times I kept myself from commenting about 'but the OP didn't ask about ******, they asked about ******'

But that's kind of the norm here. I've felt the same about other growing enterprises and individuals also many times. Then they reach a point to where someone officially apparently says 'enough' and things go back to pseudo normal.

It seems to sprout problems when the person giving the experienced advice is directly tied to a specific product or in most cases 'is' the specific product.

Well, this is really no different than the people who recommend P basses regardless.

Yes it is... if the person suggesting a P-bass also sells the P-bass he's suggesting.

As a comparison, you tend to see Roger Sadowsky show up in threads dealing with Sadowsky, but you usually don't see him show up in a "What bass should I buy" thread injecting his opinion on what's best and why. IMHO.

No, it's not the same. Thos are Fender users and not Fender employees. Not that I care about this whole endorsement/product affiliation transparency issue. I wich knuckle well and hope his business does well.

Well, I guess I should have stated my point better. At least Skip was adding REAL input based on REAL experience. Too many times people chime in with P bass, based on NOTHING. I expect that this thread is not long for this world...

This is an outrage!!!

BTW, Skip has recommended other manufacturers' strings before.

I haven't tried cricle k strings, and not sure if I will. However knuckle_head has given many people wonderful advice. I really like his balenced tension ideas. Of corse everyone is gonna have their opinion on string brands and gauges and not everyone is going to agree all the time. I don't blame him for supporting his product as strong as he does. That shows that he truly feels his product is that worth it, which is how someone running a company should be.

Good 'ol TB-
find the talent, destroy/rape it, call it names, ban it for good, let the idiots/morons run rampant... unless you're one of "the clique", of course!

Skip was/is one of the few reasons to even log on anymore in the first place.

Pathetic and hope this place loses some severe traffic because of it. Strings was pretty much useless before him.

Skip- you gonna be on E.B. more often now when I need string info? I'll try you there first.
