Mystery Strings- Who can Help Identify?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello All-- Need some help. I have a '76 Jazz bass that I bought from a shop a year ago and it had cruddy old strings on it. They didn't sound good and were hard to keep in tune but man, for some reason they felt incredible-- very easy to play. Tonight it was finally time to replace them. See attached pic-- they have red wrappings so I figured they would be GHS bass boomers. I just picked up a set from GC and surprise, they don't have red wrappings on the bottom and the feel like crap... definitely not the same string. Can anyone foray an educated guess as to the manufacturer of the below strings? tks.
