I like them all.....except for stainless and coated strings. I use nickel plated and pure nickel roundwounds, tapewounds, nickel and nickel plated flats.

I use Blue Steel.
Tried Ernie Ball, D'dario, Fender, Elixer Nanoweb coated on my RBX4 A2 and so far blue steel sounds the best for my taste

I think I will name my string preference Eunice.

But seriously. Usually nickel plated steels in 105 85 65 45.
I recently got some GHS Pressurewounds I like. I've been using Ernie Ball strings a lot lately and some DR black beauties for one bass.

preference?

I have 3 "preferences" right now

Bass #1...nickel rounds (on a P-bass)
Bass #2...stainless rounds (on an active 5-string Jazz)
Bass #3...nylon tape wounds on a semi-acoustic

I don't have a prefered sound OR a prefered string...it's all based on the music, nothing else...

Still a rookie as far as bass strings go, but I do prefer flats. I presently have Fender 9050MLs on my P-Bass.
