| Need Fender String Replacement

I used the fender string with the black silks on my jazz and loved them. Unfortunately I just discovered them a few months back. I went to buy new strings and couldn't remember what I had bought previously. I took a chance and bought 8250's and absolutely hate them. What should I buy next? I don't even know what string had the black silks.
The 8250's sound mellow and dull, the old fenders I had where grindy with extended sustain.
