Question Need help deciding on strings

Sign in to disble this ad
What are yall's recommendations on strings? My style is Funk-Metal. I want strings that give a good punch but still sound good when I'm slappin and poppin. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

Amen to what DB5 says - DR Hi Beams, Lo Riders OR Marcus (Fat Beams).

Considering the cost in relation to the effect on sound, strings are one area where you shouldn't compromise.

Rotosounds are it for me. After 26 years of playing bass and trying almost every brand of
string imagineable, I always keep coming back
to Rotosound, they make a great product, and
that is backed up by the coolest people I've ever
met in the music industry. They treat every bass
player like he was Jaco or Jack Bruce. I very
rarely have a problem with any of their products,
and if I do, I give their West Coast rep. a call
and he takes care of it, on the spot, no questions asked. They make several different
types of bass strings; there's something for
just about every type of player too. You just
don't find many companies like Rotosound anymore.

After 34 years of playing I like the TI power bass series for this style of music!

Exposed or taper core might work well for you.
