| Need Help From Nickel Players

I have used SS strings for the better part of 25 yrs. with an occasional set of nickels thrown in. To be honest I never cared for the sound of nickel......... until I picked up a Cirrus 5 a few weeks back. A local store had a closeout on Cirrus strings so I picked up 2 sets of Cirrus nickels for $20. I tell you these strings are perfect for this bass in my opinion. Now the bad news..Peavey no longer sells the Cirrus strings in nickel, only SS. What brand and type of nickels would come close to the feel of these strings? Also if anyone has any info about a local shop that might have some Cirrus nickels left in stock, I would love to know about them. Thanks for any help... |
