NEED HELP WITH PROBLEMATIC STRING!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys. I was restringing my jazz bass this morning and I accidently snipped the G string a bit too short. So when I wind it, the string just pops out and I can't get it to tune. Any tips or tricks would be really appreciated!

ps, I don't wanna buy new strings!

You would have a very tight G-string, prone to breaking, it would be uncomfortable to play not to mention the added tension might mess up your neck.

But yes it's possible

(As unlikely as it may seem after re-reading my post, there are no underwear puns intended)

Clean up the old G string with denatured alcohol, put it back on, and live with it until you buy your next set.
