Need help (TI Jazz flat content)

I tune my bass low to high: D-G-C-F-Bb

I've used Thomastik Infield jazz flats for a long time and am a big fan, but since adopting this tuning I've had problems.

I tried for a while using the highest (pitch) 5 strings of a 6-string set and tuning them down a 3rd but the tension was far too low for me(/anyone really).

I currently tune a BEADG set up a minor 3rd. The feel and tension is amazing and the tone is in most situations but the low D-string just lacks clarity.

What flats would work for a deep and clear sound but still maintaining good tension when tuned like I do?

The only other flats I've tried are fender and they don't really do it for me. I can achieve thump already through technique and a tone control and brightness through similar means.

I need depth, and I need clarity.

Thanks

I'm finding you need to try out different brands and experiment. Each bass seems to have its own best string combo. Fender flats are pretty high tension compared to TIs. May want to try La Bella or D'Addario Chromes, both are higher tension than TIs but less than Fender 9050s.

Id say try some DA Chromes or some EB flats.
