Need longer strings than D'Addario Super Longs. Options?

Just replaced the stock strings on my Washburn AB-95 (archtop fiver) with D'Addario Super Longs. The bass' scale length is 34" with an additional 4-4.5" from the saddles to the tailpiece, meaning I need about 39" of untapered string, or one that's tapered only at the bridge end.

The D'Addarios are step-tapered at the tuner end, and the first taper on the E and A strings sits in the nut slot rather than behind it. They're too short by about .5" I don't hear any negatives in tone, but there was fret buzz from the lowered string height (duh), so I have already filled the E and A nut slots and recut them to work with the new strings. Strangely enough, the B string did not buzz, even tho its taper sits in the same place.

I don't expect to ever find strings longer than these, particularly nickel rounds (which is why I went ahead and cut the nut), but I thought I'd ask.

That's really long... DAD super longs are supposed to go up to 38", some GHS are 38". DR Longnecks might not even be long enough. Circle K might be the only string you could use on that bass.

Circle K and Octave4Plus both make competitively priced strings in a plethora of sizes.

Daddario strings run pretty short. A lot of other companies long scales are longer then Daddarios super longs. I had that same issue runing longs on my bass but super longs would have been kind of excessive so i just switched back to DRs.

Just an idea, mind you..... What about Dingwall strings? Are all of Sheldons' strings as long as the B-string he provides for his works of art? Just a little something to ponder (Ponder....That's a a weird word) on.

Yup - Circle K Long sets will work, but you'll have to be willing to live with full thickness across your saddle.
