In my opinion the most punchy strings I've tried would be Dean Markley Blue Steels and DR Lo-Rider Stainless Steel. Just a warning though, either one will wear your frets faster then a nickle string.

Punch means differend things to differend people. Usually people seem to mean either those kick in the chest type strong mids that come through the mix with attitude or that fast, agressive snap with notes that seem to jump off the fretboard. If you were a bit more specific people could come up with better answers. Also what strings are you using now and what is it that you dislike about them?

Check out the Dunlop strings. I'm currently using the nickel plated sets and they're definitely punchy IMO. They're also fairly low-tension and flexible if that matters at all.

You are correct; I should have not been so vague. To be more specific, the type that will allow me feel it in my bones. A punch to the chest. I'm a sucker for the mid range.
