I searched for a couple days now and I really couldn't find a good answer. String company's websites aren't very informative when it comes to getting EXACTLY what you need and I don't have the time or money to buy multiple sets and compare. Just like the title states, any recommendations?

Dunlop reportedly makes 6 string sets, however you will need to oblige your local Dunlop vendor to custom order them for you.
On dunlops, they are awesome strings and do some in 6 str nickel variety. And they are much much cheaper.
DR 6'ers are 40-plus big ones!
One more thing -- D'Addario makes super long scale versions of their strings. Including their xl nickel series which you would want.
These you will also have to special order, like the Dunlops. |

DR 6'ers are 40-plus big ones! | I'm used to forking over bigger bucks for strings. I like the Sadowsky blue labels on my 5'er and I use Elixir phosphor bronze on my acoustic guitars. $40 is pretty much what I expected to pay when I got a 6'er. I've never tried the Dunlops before. I may give them a try after I get some Sunbeams.
Do the Ken Smith Compressors fit on a 35" scale bass?

My own take on Compressors - not great strings. There are other cool Ken Smith strings (and a lot of models) but imo those aren't one of them. If you like half rounds though, maybe they will float your boat! I similarly don't like the D'Addario half rounds. |

If they do then I've got a new brand of string. If not, I'll do the Sunbeams. Thanks guys for the info.

I really think you'll enjoy the strings as well. I have used them on my active peavey's and get a great sound out of them.

M | I like stainless too, especially the Sadowsky blue label SS. Great slap tone, especially when they're brand new. I did, however, stick a set of the bright nickels on my Valenti and I'll tell you, they're not too far off from the stainless. My new 6'er is going to be my finger funk bass, you know like Tom Kennedy kind of staccato plucking, so I'm thinking a nickel string would fair better for that.
Would you say the Dunlops are a bit brighter than the standard nickels that you hear?

All the nickel I tried have sounded mushy, muddy and unclear FOR ME. Dunlops Nic are like SS but smoother and "softer" without loosing definition.... IMO IME blablabla....

The G string seems to be a little too thin. I'm guessing that the gauge on these is somewhere like .025, .040, .060, .080, .100, .120. I got the .030-.130 set so this may be a better thing. I just remember playing that Fodera 6 string and falling in love with the strings on it. Here's the pic:
