Need some advice...

If you have na extra minute or two, I need some string advice.

Go by here http://www.myspace.com/aberrationva

and listen to Life After Death. In this song, you can hear alot of fretboard noise. I like some fretboard noise, but there can be too much. And in this song there is too much.

This is the way I play... but how can I reduce the noise?

I'm wondering if maybe switching to heavier guage strings would help. Or even lighter guage.

Thanks in advance!

Cool amp problems!

I play an acoustic bass that I can plug in to an amp. So I bought this real cheap amp for £35. I should have just thrown my money away or given it to a travelling circus or something because the amp is the most awful thing ever on the entire planet!
It just picks up real nasty sounds from the fret board and totally destroys all the nice sounds that I get when I play acoustically. If I play on a nice big bass amp, we have at work, it sounds ok.
I don’t know what amp you have but it could be worth checking out. I’m looking to buy a new big lovely sounding bass amp and paying real cash for it because it’s not the kind of thing you can save on.
Good luck

I didnt think of the amp lending to the problem. I'll look into that.

Thanks!

You know what... now that I think about it, that recording was done straight from a bass processor. There was no amp involved there.
