Question Need String Advice!

Sign in to disble this ad
I play an Ibanez BTB200, (dont slate me for it! i got it cheap and fell in love!) i need advice on which strings i shold get for my playing style.

I play a lot of Progressive Metal, such as Opeth, and also a lot of classic rock, this mainly being a sort of Deep Purple-esque sound. i also would really like the high end to be very clear, like the into to My Friend of Misery by metallica. I also Play a lot of Classic Thrash.

Help?

I would say steels of any make, as you are in the UK you can get a good deal on Rotosound R66 on Ebay, it sounds like they would fit the bill.

Yeagh Highbeams are great too, but they are around £10 more than Rotosounds here. I prefer the Rotos for that different sound, which no other strings seem to have.

is it worth the extra £10 for the highbeams then?

cause tbh if the rotos are just as good i think i might as well get the R66s?
