| Need String suggestions for a 6 string

I'm sure you guys get this question constantly, and I have dug around in the starter thread listed above and didn't quite get the answers or suggestions I was hoping for.
I received a six string for Christmas and it has basically become my go to bass. I've used GHS Bass Boomer's on all my four strings and figured I'd do the same for my six string. They sounded great at first, but for some weird reason the B and E string's sound on theme ages much much faster than the other strings, some thing that doesn't happen with their four string sets. I can't imagine why, I always wash my hands before playing and I don't play in environments that would be damaging for bass strings. I also don't really play more heavily on the B and E strings compared to the others. I've gone through two sets of Bass Boomers and they've both done the same thing.
So I'm looking for good suggestions on bass strings, or perhaps ways to avoid this weird, uneven string aging. The qualifications are:
Long Scale.
Roundwound.
Nickle plated Steel String.
Medium Lights.
Price Range isn't an issue.
Similar in feel and tone to bass boomers.
Thanks to all who respond. |
