New bass... advice on new variety of strings please!

Looking for some advice...

On the 2 basses I gig with [Ibanez & SX 5'er] I strictly use HiBeams and have previously used EB Slinkys. I play in your basic rock cover band...lots of songs from 80s/90s/current consisting of rock, funk, etc. I'm a basic finger style bassist with a tiny bit of slapping...no pick.

I purchased a AXL Badwater bass that arrived this week. Not entirely sure what strings are on this, but I'm sure I'll change them out shortly.

I would LOVE for you string experts to sell me on a different type of string. I find it too daunting to experiment with new strings generally. But I would be willing to try something different that would allow this new bass to be a different gun in the holster, so to speak.

What should I try next, and most importantly...WHY?

Thanks in advance!

Chromes 45-100 set. Or, the La Bella 760FL set. Leave them on a long time.

You should try flats. It will give you a very different sound from your Hi Beam basses.

Since you're already an avid DR user, why not just get a set of Fat Beams?
