New DR neon strings

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a feeling that these will be pretty polarizing, you're either going to love'em or hate'em, but DR just announced this morning that they're releasing a new line of coated strings in Neon. Supposedly the coating is going to be more durable than the Extended Life ones and this kinda explains why they recently pulled some of their colors out of the EL line.

Personally this makes me pretty happy. I do hope they can add a few more colors to the line, but I really do like the colors, especially the yellow.

I know I'll be buying at least one set... I have been a Hi-Beam user for a long time now and as long as these are up to the same quality standards I may be converting on at least one of my basses. Not sure how they will look on a natural finish but on my black Modulus, I think, these will look (and hopefully sound) sweet.

Makes me wish I played parties! These look pretty rad!

Unfortunately, "Electric Boogaloo" is not really my band's vibe.

I've been using Black Beauties because I get Hi-Beam sound from a more comfortable string. Cool look is just a bonus, though I dislike the added finger noise on the strings, but that's not a deal breaker. Are these the same? Pretty wild colors.

I wonder if this new K3 technology is also being used with the non-neon strings? Specifically the Black Beauties, which I LOVE!

Nickel Plated wound on Round Core. So, coated Sunbeams that glow in the dark? Sign me up for the orange ones, please.

Peter Steele died way too early & bless his soul, but imagine him play those neon green ones with Type O... He'd be godlike! "I like vitamins... I like Spiderman... I like neon strings!"
