The new Fender 8250M tp?

I've been using the 8250M taperwound on my Sting string-through for ten years. The new set was dull, lifeless, and similar to recent reviews elsewhere (apparently they changed their supplier). What might be a good alternative for me with a string-through P?

I guess some of this was addressed on the preceding fender strings post. I used to use Ernie Ball hybrids on my string-through ATK, so maybe that's the way to go. On the odd chance there's a Sting player out there, I'd love to hear what you use.
