New Flats Day!

Sign in to disble this ad
Just got a package today from Webstrings.com...my new flats! Put them on and have been playing for an hour now...man, these things are sweet. Smooth as silk and I didn't have to do any adjustment on the truss rod. Heck, I may never go back to rounds...

I got the medium Detroit stainless flats....045 -.105 gauge. I replaced them one at a time just so I made sure to get the lengths right. I checked the relief after I put them on and tuned them up and if there's a difference, it's negligible. They shipped first class mail for 4 bucks and got here in two days. I'm loving them!

BTW, I had medium rounds on there before...don't know what kind they are, they were on the bass when I bought it back in October. I kept them for spares, just in case, though.

Now all you have to do is play them a few hours a day for 3-5 years and they'll really start to sound good!

For the record, that's not sarcasm. I love old strings.

Yeah, I suck, I know that. But at least I suck a little less than I did yesterday.

The only identifying characteristic is that there is none...plain Jane strings from tip to tip.

One day down, 4 years and 364 days to go!
That's pretty much what I've read about flats...they get better as they get older...I like 'em already so I guess I'll be in love in 5 years!
