New Rickenbacker strings sound "tinny"

Sign in to disble this ad
I recently changed strings on my year old 4003, using new Rickenbacker strings. Although the sound is more clear, I've noticed a metallic "tinny" sound from them, and they seem "noisy". Anyone else ever experience this? I suspect this sound quality will lessen with time, but was suprised by the difference in sound.

New strings always sound pretty crispy. The Ric is a bright instrument as well. It'll get better. Just play the heck out of it.
