New Strings on Bass. leave it cut or un-cut

Hi guys out there,

i wanna whether is there any difference for the bass strings.
Cut it in two knobs ahead Or just leave it un-cut
is there any change of tension? or some other stuffs?

i meansure my 2 nuts ahead and cut it, then i string them up.

Cut them.

You could hurt someone if you leave the loose ends sticking out. -OR- someone could be walking past your bass while it is on the stand, the loose end could grab their clothing, and there goes your bass - CRASH - to the floor!

On all my basses the cut ends go down vertically into the tuning posts.

+1 -- First bend, then cut. Leave enough length for 3+ turns around the posts.

yup, i always place the strings into the tuning loops.
okie but theres no difference right? cut or un-cut in tension change. just to make sure.

Cut them, please, it will not affect the tuning, life, or any mystical aspect of the strings.
