Question new strings BUZZ

Sign in to disble this ad
When you put new strings on, do any of you get a wierd dead buzz sound? It's kinda hard to describe, but whenever I go to tap on the bass, unless i hit it just right, it makes this dead buzz sound like if the strings were too close to the fretboard. By the way, I have a Traben Array Limited 5 String, brand new, with a professional setup. I like the feel of it, but it has wicked fret buzz, even with a setup. I also have a Squier PBass which has none of the above problems, the strings on that are much much older tho. So can anybody relate to this issue? I'm hoping the buzz will die down as the strings get a little more worn in. This is the first time I've had new strings on my bass and have only had the Traben about 2 weeks, so I don't know if this is normal, or if I should look into getting a new bass. I don't wanna jump the gun either way. Any help on this subject is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
