ok so im gettin new strings and i want to do something different. so if repliers would, tell me what different types of strings sound like that im considering. DR high beams, DR black beauties (or other colors), anything rotosound, and D'Addario. Im only interested in roundwound strings. I would like some growly lows, and funky highs. I know victor gets this done with his EMG's but is there a better type of string to help me get there.

Hard to explain a sound as it's very subjective, opinionated and relies on a plethora of equipment before it's heard.

However, I would say D'Addario XL Nickels are well balanced with strong fundamentals and crisp highs, mellow nicely to eventually result in a nice thump. D'Addario XPS Prosteels also have strong fundamentals and zingy highs, age well. D'Addario Chromes are bright for flats, but have plenty of thump when needed.
