New strings for my Jazz Bass, Help!

For a while I've been using Super or Regular Slinkys, but I'd like to try something different.

I play in an Indie/Acoustic type band.

Any suggestions?

You know your gonna here it so I'll be the first this time. FLATWOUNDS! Just bought a Fender Jazz (Thanks DR Funk) and put GHS flats on it. Sounds killer. I would think that set up would be great for what you're playing.

Cool man, thanks. I've been checking out the "someone explain flatwounds..." thread and it sounds pretty good.

I think DR makes the best SS strings IMO. I would go Highbeams or Sunbeams if you like nickel better then SS for the jazz. I have a set of slinkys on my jazz now and they are not too bad actually and I was surprised. I just ordered a set of rounds to try on my jazz..with the 2 guitars in my band I think I want more thud then growl right now.
