"new" strings on new bass.

I have bought a Dean edge V and it plays quite nice

that said.. i once heard somewhere... can;t remember where though... that the strings that come standard with the bass might be a bit crappy.
So i thinkk they play quite nice but they sound different then my regular slinky's...

any info on this one?

Whats the difference? If they sound and play good, then use them until they need replacing.
