| Well, I'd suggest ya take the bass down to your local music store of choice, and have them suggest some strings for you. Tell them what kind of music you want to play, w/ a pick or your fingers, and how much $ you want to spend on your first set of strings... Then, maybe he'll also show ya how to put 'em on too!
Also, you should go back to the FAQ section and try to reload it... there's prolly LOT'S of great info you could use in there.
