nickel strings = more string noise?

so far ive tried 2 nickel strings and 2 steels and i notice that the nickels hav considerably more string noise than the steel or is it just me? cause i never seem to hear anyone mention this before

I've found just the opposite, but then again, the only Nickel strings I've used are the ones that come stock on the bass. I'm a Stainless Steel guy. You may be right though.

Steel wounds usually make much more fret noise.
