Noob question about eb's

Sign in to disble this ad
Im not a noob but im a noob when it comes to strings cuz ive only ever used one type, ernie ball regular slinkys

Im thinking of changing one of my basses to power slinkys and i just want to know what the differences will be with thicker strings. In comparsion to regulars, will they be tighter, will they sound better in drop d tuning and will there be alot of difference?

finally, i wana have one of my basses with power slinkys, one with regular. What would suit the power better, a p bass or MM?

Thicker strings will have more tension then thinner strings so yes it will be better for drop D tunings. But if you want a different sound why not try some flats on the P bass and use the round wounds on the Musicman.
