IS this Normal (DR Hellborgs)

I put some Hellborg strings on my P-bass but it almost seems like the strings are for short scales. My E and A string look like there gonna snap out, the wrapped end of the string doesnt reach the tuning pegs so the thin little wire is all I have holding them in. Is this how all of em are?
But other than that I really really like these strings. Clear and articulate with a good thump.

Yeah, that is how they are supposed to be. From what I have heard the 1st generation were wrapped all the way to the end but because they are a single wrap they can't be tapered at the end and were to big to fit into the tuner slot.

Yup. I recently put a set on an ABG and had a hard time stringing them up due to the bare core wire. Funny enough, a fully wound E string would have fit into my Martin's tuner just fine. The exposed core took a little bit of effort to get wound around the post evenly. Also, they look a little strange with two strings having just the core wrapped on the tuner while the other two strings look like normal.

They are terrific sounding and feeling strings, though! I will definitely buy another set for that bass.
