Not-so-great Low B Labella Black nylon / mixing black and steel strings

I use Tomasik Infeld Acousticores on one of my Turner basses [ BEADG ] and Labella Black nylons on the other [ EADGC ].

The Labella low B's never seem to have much clear sound. Anyone else have this experience? I have experimented with using a Acousticore low B with pretty darn good results.

I am waiting for the new batch of Labella high C strings to get delivered. They have apparently shifted from .029 to .042. I got impatient so I went down to BassNW and found a single TI Flat .33 gauge C string and put it on the bass with the Labellas. Not bad. A little bright. I know the new Labella C will sound a little bit deeper and more even, but this is working well for now.

Not a very deep post I know but just felt like the yakking

Seems to me like Tapewound low Bs aren't up to par with the rest, in general. The Acousticore low Bs that I've played have all been fantastic though! Especially on a 5-string Rob Allen, going through a big Epifani stack
