nut sauce?

Sign in to disble this ad
hey,

i recently had a talk with a guitar player who said his tuning improved a lot since he uses a nut sauce (i think it was 'big bender' nut sauce). its supposed to let the string move better over the saddle.... opposed to not using it might lead to irregular string tensions before and behind the saddle, which gets the string slightly out of tune.
i reckoned that this is true for very thin strings such as guitar strings and that it is useless for bass - any experiences?

It's not useless for bass. I use it.

Just apply some drops to the nut and you're in business.

I also use it on my Hipshot Tremelo bridge.

I use it on guitars with trems or whammy bars.It doesn't do much for fixed bridges or nuts where the strings don't move. It can't hurt tho..

Just don't put it in your crotch. It's Big Bends Nut Sauce and works on any instrument with a nut.

You can also rub graphite (soft pencil lead) in the nut slots. It's also mostly useful on basses with trems.

I've been doing this for years. I don't see the point of buying a product to lubricate the nut when a simple pencil will do, unless this Nut Sauce is substantially better.
