Nylon tapewounds for short-scale ABG

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi All

I recently started playing a short-scale (30") fretless Ovation ABG from the '80s. Very fun instrument, it came with nylon tapewounds that I'm digging, though I'm wondering if they're too long -- the string 'body' wraps several times around the posts.

Does anyone know of any nylon tapewounds that are appropriate for 30" scales (esp wondering if the LaBella 760Ns that I've heard so much about may come in this size)?

Also... I don't know what manufacturer made these strings, but they have black wraps (I believe the LaBella 760Ns have a purple wrap). Any clues?

D'Addario and Rotosound both make "Short Scale" Black Nylon Tape Wounds... Rotosound even makes a set for "Medium Scale"...

You are correct LaBella Black Nylon Tapewounds have Purple Silk... Black Silk could be Fender Black Nylon Tapewounds.

Rotosound have Gold silk and D'Addario have Blue silk.
