HELP!!!
There's just too much to choose form

I'm using an old school Grabber with a lot of fretwear (perfect action for me however), so I'm hesitant about SS strings as I don't want to quicken the date before I have to get a fret job.

For my main bass I've been Slowounds forever, however, finally... I only have 2 slowounds of the original set and no longer have any spares

I'm not keen to go for D'Addarios (except Chromes), will not contemplate EBs and Dean Marklays.

I'm considering going for DR Extra Life or another set of Lo-Riders. I play in a rock/grunge type band, but play a lot of jazz style stuff in the house.

Any suggestions? Do SS really make that much of a difference to fret life?
How would flats get on in a rock situation?
