Old Flatwound

Sign in to disble this ad
I converted my old guitar to fretless some time ago, and I was looking for flatwound strings but because I live in a small country, none of the music shops have flatwounds. I found used string at a repair shop for $22 but they looked like very heavily used, on some places they were just flat, it can't be recognized that they are wounded. So can someone tell me if used strings sound good or is it better to order new strings from somewhere.

Probably better to get some new ones - considering they should last you a few years, I'd almost recommend going online and seeing what you can get; I'm still waiting for webstrings' flatwounds to come back in stock because they're like 12 bucks a pack.
