Old strings charities & recycling

Is there any charity type organization that we can send old strings to? Rather than just adding to landfill, if there's some place that coordinates such a thing, I'd be happy to pay to post off a good few sets to Africa or elsewhere where they would be appreciated; better than bicycle cables that I've read are often used in poorer communities in West Africa, the Caribbean & other musical hotbeds. Even recycling would be better than just trashing them. Just tryin to help out some other soul brothers. Pls post if you have any info. Thnx

I got a bag of old strings I'd like to get rid of too. Anyone know who would want them?

I've been meaning to do this for awhile as well … it seems silly to just throw them away.

He's not doing bass strings at this time. Too bad ... a friend of mine just back from Cuba says the'd love to have them.

i give mine to a guy that builds models, he uses them in casting i believe
